A recent article in The Vancouver Sun by Rod Cameron, executive director of Convention Centres of Canada, highlights the important role the meetings industry plays in a time of economic crisis. "This is the point at which it's most important to stimulate new growth, innovation and professionalism," says Cameron "(It) is a time when the value of meetings, conventions and exhibitions is likely at its highest." In the article, he lists five reasons why now is the time to advance the role of meetings and conventions.
