Everyday, millions of children around the world are devastated by war. After witnessing the anguish first hand, Dr. Samantha Nutt founded War Child Canada, a non-profit organization that provides help to children and their family affected by conflict. An energetic and inspiring presenter, Dr. Nutt raises awareness of child and human rights issues in war-torn continents.
With Nutt’s help, the organization has grown and gained the support of some of the best musicians in the world. Recently, a highly anticipated charity rock album, Heroes, to benefit War Child was made available in the U.S. and Canada. The new album combines rock legends with today’s hot new talent to create 16 new tunes in a musical compilation that is sure to top the charts in ‘09. Heroes has been featured in several magazines, including Rolling Stone, as "a winning concept."
War Child Heroes debuted at Top 100 Billboard USA and climbing!
A recent musical event to support children of war made headlines when three of the biggest bands in the world – U2, Coldplay, and The Killers – surprised a London audience by gracing the stage together for the first time ever, all for the War Child cause.
"War Child's work is vital and being able to have a moment with The Killers and Coldplay tonight is a salute to an awesome night for them," said Bono.
