You could call Dr. Patrick Moore a Greenpeace dropout, but that is not an entirely accurate description of how or why he left the organization 15 years after he helped create it.
“The truth is Greenpeace and I had separate revelations. I became a sensible environmentalist; Greenpeace became increasingly senseless as it adopted an agenda that is anti-science, anti-business, and downright anti-human," says Dr. Moore.
A leader of the international environmental movement for more than 30 years, Dr. Moore reveals the myths and misinformation that distort current environmental debates. He calls for issues to be discussed on the basis of accurate scientific data, a search for consensus and the creation of sustainable solutions. His new book, Confessions of a Greenpeace Dropout: The Making of a Sensible Environmentalist, is based on his many years spent as the ultimate Greenpeace insider, a co-founder and leader in the organization's top committee. Dr. Moore persuasively argues for us to rethink our conventional wisdom about environment and, in so doing, provides audiences with new ways in which to see the world.
