This year we’re featuring three speakers bringing a range of expertise:
Raine Maida | Musician, Our Lady Peace & Social Activist
Raine Maida is the founding member and lead singer of the multi-platinum rock band, Our Lady Peace, and considered one of the best songwriters in music today. As a socially conscious global citizen, he is also known for his advocacy work with War Child, an organization that provides humanitarian assistance to war-affected children in countries around the world. Maida has travelled with the organization to film documentaries in Darfur, Iraq, and Ethiopia.
Raine uses music in his presentations to help demonstrate the “creative moment” and how you can prepare for that moment before it happens.
Kelsey Ramaden | Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneur 2-Years Running
Kelsey Ramsden is a multi-dimensional powerhouse. She has founded and managed multimillion-dollar companies while juggling three kids and a successful fight against cancer. Kelsey is one part Ivey School smarty-pants and two parts playful innovator. She has been named Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneur (two years running) and is an empowering voice for women in the business world.
Kelsey has been featured in bestselling books and magazines from Forbes to Canadian Business, and she is a sought after keynote speaker due to her unique and candid perspective on current events in entrepreneurship, business, lifestyle and leadership.
Tod Maffin | President, engageQ & Author of TOUCH
Tod Maffin is one of the country’s go-to commentators on the impact of accelerated technological change and innovation in business and economic environments. Tod speaks to several aspects of technology and the resulting implications for the world in which we live.
His 2014 book; TOUCH – Five Factors to Growing and Leading a Human Organization offers a refreshing look at the humanity behind our digital-centric lives. In the book, Tod looks at the fundamental changes in digital business and the effect those changes have in HR, Marketing and connecting with stakeholders. The potential issue has risen however, that in an effort to use technology to connect with people more effectively, we may have lost the humanity – that critical person-to-person connection – that is the engine of commerce.
