Keynote Speeches

Build a raving fan culture

It started out as a simple idea in a coffee shop, and now, John’s company, Nurse Next Door, has become a North American wide healthcare brand and is becoming known in healthcare as a thought leader in the way they deliver service and build culture. John’s fast paced, entertaining and content rich session will walk you through his unique approach to building company culture – taking an often misunderstood concept called “vision”, and making it the centre piece of your workplace so that you not only build a world class culture, but to also  build a  top-notch brand. You will learn: · How to create a raving fan culture by bringing your core values and envisioned future “alive” within your organization · How to attract and retain the best people · How to build a culture where you engage the hearts and minds of every employee

(Hard) core values based leadership: why it matters and how you do it

Based on his personal, entrepreneurial experiences of building a North American wide brand, John speaks on how to build vision into your organization’s culture and into your own leadership. Be warned, though, you won’t be getting a corporate, buttoned-down speaker. Equal parts inspiration and practical business best practices, John takes the traditionally stodgy, boring topic of vision – core values, core purpose and the envisioned future – and turns it on its head. With a roll up your sleeves approach, John will show you vision with a fresh perspective, leaving you energized, reinvigorated, a little smarter, and definitely inspired to go make change.

Building a Happy Company
One day, John walked into his hyper-growth company and realized that he didn’t like it anymore. He found a place where his employees weren’t happy; his clients weren’t happy;  and he wasn’t happy. After deciding with his partner that building a “great” company vs. building a “big” company was more important, they set on an incredible learning journey on how to build an endearingly great brand. Why is Nurse Next Door routinely named as one of Canada’s Top cultures and companies to work for? Why have they been named the smartest company in Canada? In his talk, John pulls back the curtain on how Nurse Next Door went from being a company who had lost its way to becoming one of the most admired healthcare brands in the country. John weaves his learning’s, his experiences, and most importantly, his failures through the telling of the Nurse Next Door story. John walks you through 13 years of hyper growth at Nurse Next Door to show you what it takes to build a world class culture
